Opening Remarks by the Senior Principal
Mr Tom Mboya
"Welcome to Ober Boys' High School, where we are Determined to excel through Innovation and Digital Transformation! Upon the launch of this interactive web platform, I am pleased to convey our vision for a digitally enhanced learning environment. Our comprehensive digitisation initiative aligns with Kenya's ICT in Education Policy (2019) and Government Initiatives, aiming to improve teaching, learning, stakeholder management, resource mobilisation, and administration.
The School Strategic Development Plan (2023-2027) establishes our dedication to delivering high-quality, inclusive education and comprehensive learner development. Our focus is on the effective and impactful implementation of a Competency-Based Education (CBE) Curriculum, promoting effective andragogy (learner-centred teaching and learning methods), pedagogy (Blooms Taxonomy Inclined Teaching and Learning Methods) and assessment, and cultivating a culture of discipline, diligence, creativity, innovation, and resilience through integration and application of the KISWATE Digital Register and Discipline Tracking System in our day-to-day administration of school programs and activities.
The Strategic Plan's key highlights encompass:
- Enhancement of academic results via increased instructor-student contact, classroom teaching, and learning achievements.
- Developing infrastructure to support growing student needs, including classrooms, laboratories, and hostels
- Enhancing teacher professional development through training, mentorship, and performance management
- Promoting co-curricular activities, sports, and games to foster talent and character development
- Strengthening school-community partnerships for resource mobilisation and support
Our digitisation plan is a key component of our Strategic Plan, aiming to:
- Upgrade ICT infrastructure and digital learning platforms
- Train teachers to integrate digital tools into teaching and learning
- Enhance student access to digital resources and learning opportunities
- Improve administrative efficiency and communication through digital systems
We're committed to leveraging technology to take our school to the next level. Our strategic objectives are aligned with the national development agenda, Kenya Vision 2030, and the National Education Goals.
At Ober Boys', we're cultivating a culture of obedience, boldness, earnestness, and responsibility. We're proud of our values: patriotism, respect for authority, community service, and environmental conservation.
I invite you to join us on this exciting journey. Together, we can achieve excellence in education and holistic development for our students.
